Encorus Group is growing and seeking a Senior Business Development Specialist with a strong network in the Rochester and Upstate New York inspection and testing industry to drive growth in the region.

This role will focus on identifying and developing new opportunities. The ideal candidate knows where upcoming projects are, is connected to key decision-makers, and can position Encorus as a trusted partner early in the process.

Working closely with our Inspection & Testing leadership and technical teams, you’ll build client relationships, develop sales strategies, and grow the project backlog across Civil Materials, Nondestructive Testing, Mechanical Integrity, and Regulated Building Materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage and deepen your existing industry relationships to generate early leads and secure work ahead of RFP publication.
  • Develop and implement specific strategic sales plans for each of the Inspection and Testing Groups to grow Encorus Group’s public and private sector project backlog and market presence.
  • Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with new and existing clients to support long-term business growth.
  • Become a subject matter advocate for Encorus Inspection & Testing Team expertise and drive targeted sales efforts.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries, supporting proposal development and pursuit activities.
  • Represent Encorus Group at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional events to enhance visibility and cultivate new opportunities.
  • Conduct market research, network proactively, and pursue new business development opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with inspection & testing groups to ensure that the clients schedule and quality requirements are consistently being met.
  • Develop and implement client strategies to enhance satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
  • Track and meet agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including lead generation, proposal success, and client engagement metrics.

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in sales, business development, or operations roles within the inspection and testing industry
  • Demonstrated success securing work through established private industry relationships, especially within manufacturing, chemical processing, power, renewable energy, or data centers.
  • Strong technical understanding of inspection and testing services (CT, NDE, RBM and /or MI)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% for client visits, meetings, and industry events.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
